Gunsmoke 0-60 tow

We restored this 1989 Ford F-350 so that it could be auctioned for Mountain States Children’s Home just down the road in Longmont, Colorado.

Here’s what happened, one of our viewers, David Morrow, donated this truck and helped us rebuild it so that we could raise money for the local charity he chose. We filmed a series of videos around our budget restoration of the truck, from patching rust and painting in a barn, to off-roading the Colorado Rockies.

Now it’s time for Gunsmoke to move on to a new home, and benefit a great cause. While we fixed some major issues with the old Ford, there are still some areas which need love.

The nickname “Gunsmoke” comes from the 7.3L IDI Diesel Truck’s smoky exhaust. However, the smoky haze cleans up once the truck is warm, likely pointing to poor quality injectors.

Besides the the smoke, the F-350 could also benefit from an alignment and working A/C. Gunsmoke is far from a show quality machine, but this truck is tough and ready to hit the trails. Especially thanks to it’s big solid axles, and 5-speed manual transmission.

Best of all, Toyo Tires provided 35 inch Open Country AT III’s which we mounted on old school steelies. We also had the brakes fixed, fixed a leaky tank, and David built a great set of rock sliders that are truly one of a kind.

To bid on our truck, register at barnfinds.com, while they do require a card for verification you will not be charged for registering. Be sure to click “Watch Auction” to receive email updates on the status of the listing.

Once the auction is finished, we will reach out and send the title once we have received a wire transfer. The buyer will arrange for shipping, but we can help point you in the right direction.

There is no reserve, and all of the funds go to a great cause. If you haven’t seen the video series, check out the first episode below.
