New Image Shows 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Will Be Pushing RAM 1500 Size

It looks like the Escalade and Navigator truly has new competition from, yep, Jeep

Jeep teased out yet another image of the upcoming 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, slated to be revealed to the world on September 3 next week. Finally, we have some idea of the size of FCA’s answer to the full-size luxury SUV class dominated Cadillac and Lincoln. Through the giant sunroof, we spot 3 rows of seating with a little room left over for cargo in the rear.

Rumors claim that FCA tapped the RAM 1500 pickup truck platform to carry the new SUV, and with that, hopefully RAM’s range of engines too–from the workhorse Pentastar V6 on up to the HEMI V8 and new EcoDiesel. And likely, the Grand Wagoneer won’t inherit the RAM’s solid rear axle, opting for independent rear suspension. It also wouldn’t surprise us to see RAM’s factory air suspension standard on the Grand Wagoneer as it delivers an appropriately premium ride for Jeep’s luxury vehicle.

Grand Wagoneer easter egg

While the SUV is a completely new vehicle for the Jeep brand, both in terms of underpinnings, design (a lot of chome!), and luxury, Jeep kept its cheeky use of easter eggs hidden throughout the vehicle. In the sample photo above, the stylized Wagoneer imprint with the words “Est. 1963” appears on the side of the dash when you open the door. We’ll find out more next week. Stay tuned to TFLtruck and TFLtruck.com for our take on the full reveal of the newest Jeep.
