Some leaked information just crossed our desk referring to a Ford Ranger Tremor.
There is very little to go on here, other than a leak from an anonymous source stating that there’s a graphic design that says, “Ford Ranger Tremor.” They indicate that there could be a wheel/tire package as well. This is not the first time we’ve heard of Ford reusing the Tremor badge, but it is the first time they’ve used it with a Ranger.
We reached out to Ford for comment – the company had no comment about future product.

Right now, a loaded 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat, Black Edition with the FX4 off-road package runs about $45,000. That’s just about as top-of-the-line as you can get with the Ranger. We suspect that, if this rumored Ranger Tremor has even more off-road kit, it will cost about as much or slightly more. It could be as expensive as the Black Package, which is $1,995 – but that’s an appearance package.
We think that the Ranger Tremor could have more substance.
What could the Ranger Tremor be?
Judging by what we’ve seen with Tremor packages before, it’s possible that Ford is aiming for a package that’s a step above the FX4. That is to say, IF there is a future Ford Ranger Raptor, this Tremor could step in-between the FX4 and Raptor.
It’s possible that this package could be both graphic (we hear there’s a bunch of stickers) and, possibly a FOX suspension. We suspect their new two-inch leveling kit might be part of the package as well. This would make sense as the leveling kit is pretty popular.
There is a ton of speculation about the engine and transmission of the possible future U.S. Ranger Raptor. Everything that the new 2021 Ford Bronco has, many feel the Ranger could have. That includes the seven-speed manual and, possibly the 2.7-liter EcoBoost.
Will any of this be used in the Ranger Tremor?
We feel that a majority of the enhancements Ford made with the Super Duty Tremor over the regular FX4 will be similar to the Ranger Tremor – if they actually build it. That would be suspension, tires, armor and graphics.
