The Rivian R1T EV off-road looks epic!

Right on the heels of the upcoming Ford F-150 reveal, AND news about the upcoming Ram TRX reveal, we get this sweet video of the Rivian R1T off-road. It’s more than that, it’s more than a quick beauty shot of this truck going sideways on the dirt – something a golf cart could do – there’s more.

In this video, we get a great idea how extensively the folks at Rivian are testing their upcoming truck. It looks very promising. The clips that show the R1T tackle serious off-road obstacles, (including rock-crawling), is eye-opening. We get a glimpse of this 4X4 system works on loose dirt and serious rocks.

To my eye, it appears that all four wheels work independently when seeking traction. This is what we’ve come to expect given its unique EV setup that has a motor powering each wheel. It also looks like its fast as hell when you see it rip over the asphalt.

To say we’re excited about the future of EV trucks would be an understatement. This Rivian R1T promotional/behind-the-scenes video is enough to get us all thinking about the possibilities. I mean, which off-road publication will be the first to lift one? How about adding awesome modifications and upgrades?

Most importantly to TFLtruck – how about a battery of serious towing videos?

One thing we wish we could see is behind-the scenes testing of the way they evaluate towing. We would love to see what they are towing and how they are doing it. Sure, it’s nitpicking, but we like our pickup trucks towing baby.

It won’t be long before we start getting answers about the Rivian R1T and many other competitors in the very near future.

Which automaker’s EV pickup truck are you looking forward to?
