Here is an older 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 HD that is approaching 1 million miles with what is reportedly an original 5.9L 12-valve Cummins turbo-diesel engine.

We got these two images and the following description from the current owner.

It is a 1995 Dodge 2500. I bought it in North Carolina back in 2016 when it had 909,000 miles. From what I found I am the 3rd owner. The original owner used it to transport campers in Indiana and supposedly in 2003 it had 800,000 miles on it. Since I’ve owned it, I have installed 5×0.014 injectors, a 60/60/12 HX35, and many other parts along with a 47RH transmission that I rebuilt myself. As far as the engine goes, I doubt it’s been rebuilt due to all of the brittle gaskets I’ve replaced.

The 1995 version of the 5.9-liter Cummins straight-six used an air-to-air intercooler and was rated at 160 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque when mated to the 4-speed automatic transmission.

While this truck is about 25 years old, it’s very interesting to see how much the pickup trucks have advanced in terms of power, technology, and capability. Will be talking about 2020 HD trucks with almost 1 million miles 25 years from now? I guess, we will have to wait and see.
