General Motors introduces an electric vehicle and battery-electric Ultium EV vehicle platform. GM reportedly showed the upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup truck, Hummer EV SUV, Chevrolet electric pickup truck, new electric Cadillac crossover, and several other vehicles at a recent event. Several of the attending media members spoke up publicly about what they saw, so here is everything we know about the upcoming electric Hummer.

2022 GMC Hummer EV
Please keep in mind that the only official information we have about the GM electric trucks have to do with the new electric chassis, battery technology, electric motor configuration, and three specification numbers: maximum 1,000 hp, maximum “ground” torque of 11,500 lb-ft, and maximum 0-60 MPH acceleration of 3.0 seconds. The “ground torque” is a combined total maximum torque from the electric motors multiplied by any gear reduction.
GM also publicly stated that their electric truck will have one, two, or three electric motor configurations. Some configurations will be meant for off-road specific use, some for on-road performance, and some for towing capability. Now, we also officially know that maximum battery capacity will be 200 kWh. The maximum driving range is stated by General Motors to be 400 miles. The 800-volt battery system with a 350 kW charging. capability could allow the battery to be mostly recharged in about 30 minutes, but this is still unofficial.
Chassis and Body
The truck EV chassis you can see shows four-corner independent suspension with air springs. There are electric motors front and rear, and a large battery pack in the center.
