No Way! Can a Stock-Looking Ford F-150 Crew Cab Run a 0-60 MPH in Under 4 Seconds & and an 11 Second 1/4 Mile? (Video)

This truck is running a tuned 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with over 700 hp!

Can a stock-looking “ultimate sleeper” Ford F-150 crew cab 4×4 run a 0-60 MPH in under 4 seconds? Can it do a 1/4-mile drag strip run in under 12 seconds? The answer is yes, and yes, and here is how to do it!

I recently went to South Carolina to meet the guys at 5 Star Tuning and test their latest creation – a tuned 2020 Ford Explorer ST. We raced their E50-tuned Explorer ST and a stock Explorer ST against a Dodge Durango SRT. That was very fun and eye-opening, but they had something else in store.

It’s a modified and tuned Ford F-150 truck that looks completely stock from the outside. The truck is using all stock 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 internals and turbos. It has a modified fuel pump and fuel system updates to handle E85 ethanol fuel. It also has a high-performance air intake, intercooler, and a more free-flowing exhaust system.

Naturally this truck also has a fully-customized tuning program from 5 Star that enables the truck to get all the power from the E85 fuel. The 85% ethanol fuel basically increases the octane level of the fuel at an affordable price. This allows for advanced ignition timing and much more power.

This truck has put down 603 hp and 666 lb-ft to the rear wheels (see the video). We saw 590 hp and 650 lb-ft to the rear wheels in person. This truck produces over 700 horsepower at the crank.

What does it all mean in terms of real-world performance? Well, the guys at 5 Star put on two separate drag strips that day. The truck returned an eye-popping 3.97 sec 0-60 MPH. A little later on – the truck ran a 11.6444 sec quarter-mile at 116.40 MPH. If you know anything about drag racing – this is crazy fast for a large vehicle like this 5,200+ lbs pickup truck.
