Chevrolet introduces the newest 2020 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss Midnight and Rally editions at the 2019 State Fair of Texas. While the blacked out Trail Boss adds some sinister flare to the off-road truck, the Silverado 1500 Rally edition is more focused on the street.

The Midnight edition means the truck is all black. That includes the entire exterior: grille, wheels, badges, exhaust tips, and side steps. There is just a touch of chrome trim around the Chevrolet bowtie and the red tow hooks in the front.

The Midnight package is available on the 2020 Trail Boss Custom and LT trim levels. The Custom Trail Boss is a more affordable option and comes with a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6-speed automatic transmission. If you want more power, you can opt for the 6.2-liter V8 with a 10-speed automatic. The big V8 is still rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The LT Trail Boss offers more luxury features, including LED headlights.

Rally Edition

If you prefer the street look, then the 2020 Rally edition may be more up your alley. It’s available on Custom and RST trim levels. It’s available in Black, Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic or Summit White exterior colors. The package includes a body-colored grille, black Rally stripes on the hood and tailgate, black badging, black Bowties, black exhaust tip(s), and black assist steps.

The Custom rally edition can be had with a 2.7-liter turbocharged I4 gas engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. While the RST Rally edition offers up to three engine choices: 2.7-liter I4, 5.3-liter V8, or a 6.2-liter V8.

There is no mention of a turbo-diesel version of the Rally edition trucks. Chevrolet has not yet announced pricing on the new Midnight and Rally Edition truck.
