A recent report suggests that the 2021 Chevy Colorado and the 2021 GMC Canyon pickup trucks will remain mostly the same. The truck will get just some minor updates, according to a source at GM Authority.

GM Authority reports that 2021 midsize trucks from General Motors may get updated grille designs and interior updates, but it will not be a proper mid-cycle refresh.

Yes, the 2020 trucks are not at most dealerships yet, but we are already talking about the 2021 updates. This is mainly because most of us have been waiting for an updated Colorado & Canyon trucks for some time. The midsize truck segment is way more competitive now than it was in 2014 when these trucks came back to the U.S. market.

The new 2019 Ford Ranger is here. So is the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The Toyota Tacoma is getting some updates for the 2020 model year, and the Nissan Frontier is rumored to be all-new for 2021.

How will GM respond to some many new or updated trucks in the market? We will have to wait and see. For one, I am looking forward to a GMC Canyon AT4 off-road truck. GMC has said that nearly every GMC vehicle will soon get an AT4 version, and the Canyon is a natural next candidate.

Let us know what you think GM should change or update for their midsize truck lineup in the comments below.
