2020 Chevy Silverado HD

The 2020 Silverado 2500 HD has a familiar, but revised 6.6-liter Duramax V8 turbo-diesel with 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is all new. It’s an Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission. The truck you see here is a crew cab 4×4 High Country model with nearly every option. This truck weighs in at about 8,300 lbs.

We are comparing the Silverado HD 2500 against a Ford F-250 with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo-diesel. This 2019 version of the engine produces 450 hp and 935 lb-ft of torque. The big Ford uses a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2020 Super Duty trucks will get a 10-speed automatic when they go on sale at the very end of this year.
