A recent report by Automotive News has published data on Ford and Lincoln sales results in May 2019. The report says that Ford F-series sales number went down -0.3% when compared to last year, but the new Ford Ranger sold 7,748 truck in May.

Ford officially stopped reporting sales on a monthly basis. They are now on a quarterly sales reporting schedule. We reached out to Ford for official comment, and we will update this article as soon as we hear back.

Ford F-Series

How are the F-series trucks doing? Take a look back at May 2018 sales. Ford sold 84,639 light and heavy duty trucks that month. Automotive News report says that F-Series is down -0.3% in May 2019. That means Ford sold approximately 84,386 trucks.

How does this compare? Ram officially reports they sold 62,250 trucks. Ford is still in the lead, assuming GM (Chevy & GMC) did not increase sales in a significant way.

Ford Ranger

Ford’s midsize truck is doing good. The report says the truck sold 7,748 trucks, which is a significant increase over last month’s numbers (see graph below). This is also more than Nissan Frontiers sold over the same time period.

It’s good news for the Ranger, but could the midsize truck be stealing a few F-series sales along the way? We will have to do further analysis to find out.

Here is a detailed video comparison review of the latest midsize trucks.
