Here is an upcoming 2021 GMC Yukon prototype spied in the wild. The fancy wheels suggest it could be a high-end Denali model. Which full-size GM SUV is your favorite? Is it a Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, or a Cadillac Escalade?

2021 GMC Yukon

It’s no secret that GM is working on the next generation full-size SUVs. The company made an official announcement stating this. At first, we thought these will come out as 2020 models, but latest intel point to the 2021 production models that will make debut at the end of 2019 or in 2020.

We expect the new GMC Yukon to share much of the chassis and engine options with the GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevy Silverado 1500. Although, the SUV counterparts will use an independent rear suspension, if these prototypes are to be believed. This and many other prototypes have shown an independent rear suspension.

Many competitors such as the Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, and Nissan Armada already use an independent rear. The GM SUVs have remained with a solid rear axle for now. Will these GM SUV’s retain their well-known towing capability with the independent rear? We will have to wait and see.

It will be great to see the new big SUVs with the 6.2-liter V8 gas engine or a possible 3.0-liter turbo-diesel straight six.

Here is a fun drag race between a GMC Yukon Denali and a Chevy Tahoe RST.
