Watch a 30-Year-Old Jeep Comanche Spank a New Gladiator Off-Road! Cheap Jeep Challenge S2 Ep.4 (Video)

2020 jeep gladiator comanche truck comparison off-road

What happens when we take a brand-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator and our 1989 Jeep Comanche truck to Moab, Utah for a comparison trail run? Well, here it is! This the Cheap Jeep Pickup Challenge Episode 4.

Previous, on this Cheap Jeep series – we completely went through the 5-speed manual transmission on our Comanche with a transmission expert. The transmission is now shifting properly.

Next, we used Devon’s help to give the truck a 4-inch Teraflex suspension lift. Devon also replaced the truck’s old exhaust system with a more free-flowing one that made the sound so much better. We also fitted 33-inch tall BFGoodrich M/T tires.

Now, this modified old Jeep truck should be good to take on the new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon.

The 2020 Gladiator only comes in a crew cab short bed configuration with four-wheel-drive. There is no question that the regular cab Jeep Comanche has much better breakover angle in the middle due to a shorter wheelbase. However, how will the two trucks handle the obstacles on Moab’s Fins and Things trail?

Which truck will be smoother? Which truck will clear more obstacles with ease? Check out the video below for all the fun.
