Spied (Again)! Looks Like FCA Is Testing The 2021 Ram Rebel TRX In The Colorado Rockies (UPDATED)

It may be covered, but they aren’t fooling anyone.

We have technically seen a 2021 Ram Rebel TRX “in the flesh” already. Back in late March, we had our first and second good looks at Ram’s effort to make good on the 2016 Ram Rebel TRX Concept in the latest fifth-generation truck.

All the hallmarks are there. It matches the Ram 1500’s silhouette on size, and there’s a similar lift and tire size to what we’ve seen before. The outline of the truck, including the fender flares and running boards give away the truck’s identity.

The Ram Rebel TRX will almost certainly use the daddy of the Hemi V8 lineup. The 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat motor churns out in excess of 707 horsepower in the Charger and Challenger Hellcat. FCA could tune the engine differently here, but the upshot is that this truck will be much more powerful than the standard Ram 1500 Rebel.

Here’s what the Ram Rebel TRX prototype looks like without that pesky cover in the way.

On the relatively un-camouflaged prototype, we noticed 8-lug wheels and a more heavy-duty rear axle. Ram, of course, has not provided any official details on the truck yet, so we still have to speculate.

Still, it’s fun to know that truck is wringing out its supercharged engine nearly two miles above sea level, in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. You bet we are in hot pursuit of this truck, and we will try to get some footage of this truck on the move.

Huge thanks to our old friend Brian Waring for tipping us off to this truck hiding in our back yard!
