The new 2020 Jeep Gladiator should be hitting your local dealership starting in May. The Rubicon hard-top you see here has nearly every option available, but it also brings the retail price to just over $60,000. This brings up an interesting question – what other cool off-road truck can be purchased for the same price or less?

We did some research and got fairly surprised by what we found. We looked at Chevy and Ram/Jeep inventory at a local dealership. We found several cool off-road trucks that all go for less than $60,000. For example, a 2019 Ram Rebel 12 that retails at about $55,000 after a dealership discount. There is also a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss that can be had for closer to $50,000.

The same is true for a 2019 Ram 2500 HD 4×4, a Chevy Silverado 3500 Dually work truck, and more.

Technically speaking, you can order a new 2019 Ford Raptor for under $60,000. The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro or a Nissan Titan Pro-4X both can be had around the $50,000 price tag.

Is the new Gladiator priced outside the reach of most truck buyers? Well, the Gladiator Sport starts at just about $35,000 with a manual transmission. Many Jeep fans who have been waiting for a Jeep pickup truck for a very long time will buy the new truck. The Gladiator has a unique proposition. It’s the only convertible top pickup truck on the market. It can also be had with a manual transmission and front & rear locking differentials.

Will the Gladiator continue conquest sales across the midsize truck and other vehicle segments? Time will tell. We will be watching the upcoming sales reports very carefully.
