Rivian R1T electric truck was seen driving in Aspen, Colorado. The new prototype truck is on display at the X-Games this week, but in order to get to the display it simply drove the short stretch.
The R1T was officially unveiled at the 2018 LA Auto Show in November. The truck on display at the show was a prototype unit, and Rivian told us that pre-production units are planned to be available by the end of 2019.
The current temperatures in Aspen are ranging between 10F – 28F degrees and the roads are snow packed. The average elevation of the town is 8,000 feet above sea level. This is not the harshest of environments, but it’s also not the easiest.
The R1T is promising full all-wheel-drive capability, long range with its maximum 180 kWh battery capacity, and surprising performance of approximately 3 seconds 0-60 MPH.
Here are some other stats:
- Power: 750 hp / 10,325 lb-ft torque
- Range: 250-400 miles (based on 135 kWh – 180 kWh battery capacity)
