Another glimmer of information about the next generation Nissan Frontier is here. Nissan’s vice president of product planning – Ivan Espinosa recently told Autoblog that the company is actively working on the next Frontier for the United States, and that it is “almost finished” and will be revealed soon.
When will we see the next generation U.S.-spec Nissan Frontier? We do not know for sure yet. Currently, our bet is on the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, because the company’s 2019 NAIAS teaser appears to be focused on design of a sedan (see below).
The Chicago Auto Show has historically been focused on trucks, and this year will be no exception as we also expect to see a 2020 Chevy HD at that show. Ford and Toyota may also release some truck news at that show, but we will have to wait and see.
Here is how the current Nissan Frontier compares to other midsize trucks on a tough Colorado off-road trail (with the exception of the Ranger).
