Next generation U.S.-spec Nissan Frontier news are very sparse these days. The current generation is still on sale here as a 2019 model, but many of you keep asking us about what’s next. Here is a glimpse of what might be on the horizon in a form of a Nissan Frontier NP300 Desert Runner from south of the border.
These images come to us from Jarrett B. in Dallas, TX. This is a crew cab short bed with a Desert Runner package (judging by the sticker on the bed side). It’s also sporting some aftermarket wheels and tires. It’s interesting to see that a Desert Runner package is available in other markets.
Take a look at the badge on the tailgate. Yes, it’s badged as a Frontier in several markets around the world.
In case you are wondering, the Frontier Desert Runner truck is a 2WD with off-road suspension. In other words, it’s similar to a “pre-runner” package. This package exists on the current Nissan Frontier in the United States as well and comes with Bilstein shocks.
