Ford Ranger Towing 15 Camping Trailers: Who Does the Coolest Towing Stunt?

(photo: Ford)

Ford recently published a video that features a Euro-spec Ford Ranger with a bi-turbo diesel engine that pulls 15 camping trailers on a “closed track”.

The bi-turbo diesel that is featured in this video is rated at approximately 210 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. This engine is not available in the US-spec Rangers. The 2.3L turbocharged I4 is still the only engine option for the United States.

This stunt has the Ranger towing approximately 44,000 lbs (although the truck has a maximum rating of about 7,700 lbs). It means the smaller camping trailers being towed average about 3,000 lbs each.

This week saw another cool towing stunt. It was an all-new 2020 GMC HD 3500 dually that pulled approximately 225,000 lbs worth of boat and crane onto its world debut stage.

Naturally, there are dozens of other towing stunts that manufacturers staged over the years. There were Land Rover SUVs towing trains, VW or Porsche SUVs towing commercial jet planes, Toyota Tundra towing a space shuttle, trucks towing trailers full of lumber, and more.

Let us know your favorite or most impressive towing stunt in the comments below.
