Several new 2019 Ram HD truck prototypes have been caught testing in the wild. The uncovered trucks give us a good idea about what the next Ram HD trucks will look like, but there are still many unaswered questions. Will the new heavy duty trucks have the new interior that closely matches the new 2019 Ram 1500 half-ton trucks? What about the cabs and the beds? Will the new trucks have carry-over cab and bed designs?
We cannot answer these questions definitively until the trucks make their official debut in January 2019 at the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). However, the information from the prototype spy shots is intriguing.
The black Ram Power Wagon shown here has new hood, grille, lights, and bumpers. However, the cab, doors, side mirrors, bed, and Ram Box appear to be carry-over. We will have to wait until we can indeed verify whether the cabs and beds are redesigned.
There are also new spy images that show HD prototype trucks with the 12-inch infotainment screen. It makes sense that the new Ram HD truck will have similar interior designs as the 2019 Ram 1500 half-tons. The light-duty trucks have taken interior design to the next level. The heavy duty trucks have an opportunity to do the same. However, can the new interior be fitted to the carry-over cabs?
