Report: There Will Not Be a 2020 Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss Off-Road Truck

A recent report suggests that there will not be an off-road special Trail Boss version of the upcoming 2020 Chevy Silverado HD. Heavy duty off-road enthusiasts will have the Z71 off-road package to work with.

Chevrolet officially let it be known that the Z71 heavy duty truck will be available when the next generation 2020 trucks go on sale next year. If past experience is any indicator, the Z71 package will include hill-descent control, skid plates, off-road all-terrain tires, and a G80 rear lockable differential.

Many of us hoped that the new HD truck will also get a slight lift and a more aggressive Trail Boss package, but this report from GM Authority says otherwise.

The new truck is already looking to be taller and at least three inches longer than before. It’s a big heavy duty truck with size on par with the Ram Power Wagon and Ford F-250 4×4.

The prototype images you see here also show a clear view of torsion bar for the independent front suspension, and a unique exhaust system that is different from the one on the turbo-diesel powered trucks.

The 2020 Chevy HD will make their official public debut in February 2019 at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show.
