August was a good month for the Toyota Tacoma in the midsize segment, with the brand claiming that this was the best August since back in 1996.
That’s a gain of 35.3 percent for Toyota’s mid-sizer, the perennial best-seller in this segment. In total, Toyota sold 23,532 Tacomas in August.
The next largest gain was made by the Honda Ridgeline, which moved 2,792 units in August for a monthly gain of 6.97 percent. For the year though, the Ridgeline is still down by 14.81 percent compared to the same point in 2017.
The Nissan Frontier continued its sales slide in August, down month-over-month by 1.38 percent, and down by 1.52 percent compared to this time last year.
We don’t know how the Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon did, because GM now reports its sales quarterly.
