Chevrolet is taking the Colorado ZR2 to the next level of overland travel and off-roading. GM partnered with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to create the BISON. The base ZR2 gets customized steel bumpers front and rear. The front bumper is ready to accept a winch, although one is not part of the BISON package. The rear bumper has tube sections and additional tie-down points.

Up front is a new grille that spells out “CHEVROLET”. This is an optional piece that is available for the 2019 Colorado. Underneath are five boron steel alloy skid plates. The side ZR2 rock rails remain, as do the 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. Although, the BISON gets unique rims.

Customer may also opt for an AEV snorkle that completes the rugged look. The BISON can be had with either a 3.6L V6 gas engine with an 8-speed or a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel with a 6-speed. Axles, suspension, and the DSSV Multimatic spool-valve shocks also remain the same.
