The 2018 State Fair of Texas (BigTex) is coming up very soon – the media truck show is on Sep 27th, 2018. What can we expect from all the truck makers: Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, Ram, and Toyota? Here is our take and predictions.
(Note: These are predictions made by TFLtruck.com. These are not official announcements by the manufacturers.)
While the State Fair of Texas is an important place and event for all truck makers, it may not be the place for them to unveil an all-new truck or engine. Major reveals happened here in the past, but will they this year?
We will be broadcasting live from the show on TFLnow Youtube channel, so please join us.
2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and …
The Colorado ZR2 Bison goes on sale at the beginning of 2019, but the State Fair of Texas is a great place to show the truck publicly for the first time. The Bison package builds on top of the ZR2 truck and offers steel bumpers, skid plates, and a snorkel that were all developed in collaboration with AEV.
2019 Ford F-150 Limited and Raptor
Ford recently announce the 2019 F-150 Limited truck that is equipped with the high-output “Raptor” version of the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6. The engine is still rated at 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, but it is now powering the luxury truck.
The 2019 Ford Raptor with the live FOX shocks should also be there.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Texas Edition and …
GM is likely to show special Texas editions of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 (and the Silverado 1500) at the Fair.
2019 Nissan Titan and …
Nissan just unveiled the new Fender Premium audio system in the 2019 Titan. We expect to see the latest Titan and listen to the new stereo in Texas.
2019 Ram Rebel 12 and Power Wagon Mojave
Ram trucks just announce the new luxurious version of the 2019 Ram Rebel, called the ’12’ in honor of the 12-inch infotainment screen that is now available. Ram is turning up the luxury and technology feature for the Rebel off-road truck. 360-degree camera system is still not available.
Ram also has a special new Ram Power Wagon package called the Mojave Sand. It’s a unique color (that was also available on the Rebel Mojave a couple of years ago). It also features black rims and black interior.
2019 Toyota Tundra
Toyota is likely to show off the latest TRD Pro lineup in Texas. It includes the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner TRD Pro. Special new Texas editions of the trucks are also possible.
