Ram Rebel vs Jeep Rubicon vs Honda Pioneer: What’s the Best Off-Roader? [Video]

Fighting for off-road supremacy and finding out which vehicle, Honda Pioneer 500 vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon vs Ram Rebel, is the most fun off-road made for some exciting video. We opted to settle it all in one day up an extremely challenging off-road course. All three vehicles are outstanding on their own, but we all have our favorites:

Mr. Truck and Tommy talk to Andre about the next shot.
  • Mr. Truck swears by his Honda Pioneer 500 side-by-side “Mr.Truck Edition” – and, to be fair, it is extremely capable and well sorted. Mr. Truck added Honda accessories, such as a winch, a roof and removable windshield. He also added larger tires which, in this rocky off-road environment, can be aired-down and provide a much better overall ride.
  • Andre knows the 2019 Ram Rebel has serious off-road abilities. He’s driven it in Moab, UT in the Rockie Mountains and off-road in Phoenix, AZ. With its new platform, excellent tires, locking rear diff and adjustable ride height, only a handful of pickup trucks in this class are more off-road capable.
  • Nathan goes for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) Rubicon. All-new for 2018, this Rubicon comes standard with a front and rear lockers, disconnecting sway-bar,  4:10 gearing (both axles) and beefy 33-inch, BFGoodrich KO2 off-road tires. Being that it’s the shorter-wheelbase 2-door,  it also has the best approach (44 degrees), departure (37 degrees) and breakover (27.8 degrees) angles in the business. It also comes with a useful 10.8-inches of ground clearance.

Yes, Mr. Truck has been to Cliffhanger 2.0 before, but it was snow-covered and little could be climbed at time. You can see that video (here).

Mr. Truck has a lot of experience with side-by-sides and surprised everyone by not selecting a pickup truck for the contest. Nathan and Andre’s choices made sense and, hopefully, we’ll be able to do another battle like this with three different vehicles in the near future.

In this video, you will see the Honda Pioneer 500 vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon vs Ram Rebel battle Cliffhanger 2.0 in the Rocky Mountains, finishing well over 9,000-feet of elevation. It is a test of man and machine along with one of the best ways to let off some steam.
