The fans of big SUVs and big V8s should be very happy with the introduction of the 2019 Chevy Suburban RST. It marks the first time that the current generation Suburban is available with the bigger 6.2L V8 (in addition to the 5.3L V8). Chevrolet says the 2018 Tahoe RST has proven very popular with customers, and they hope the Suburban RST will do the same.

The 6.2L V8 is still rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission. The Rally Sport Truck version of the Suburban will offer the same performance option as the Tahoe RST. This includes the performance Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers and 16.1-inch rotors, Borla performance exhaust option, magnetic ride control, air-leveling rear suspension, 22-inch rims, blacked out badging and exterior accents.

Chevrolet says the Suburban RST will have a maximum tow rating of 8,100 lbs, and it will be available for sale “later this summer” in 2018.
