Dozens of overturned semi trucks were reported today along Interstate-25 and many other major highways in Colorado. High winds reached gusts of 89 MPH in some parts of Colorado today. Traveling in such conditions proves hazardous for many motorists, especially tall vehicles such as semi trucks. These winds are strong enough to move a small car around on the highway, but tall vehicles, many road signs and trees do not stand a chance.

High wind conditions also dangerous for motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Colorado State Patrol does not report any casualties related to high wind traffic accidents.

Many truckers had to pull over and find shelter as to not risk being overturned. It does not matter if a truck is empty or loaded, these winds pose danger to all high profile vehicles.
