How successful is the Chevy Colorado ZR2 in terms of sales? Is it mostly hype, or is it getting traction among consumers? A recent Seeking Alpha article reports that the ZR2 off-road version of GM’s midsize Colorado pickup combines to 12% of total Colorado sales (according to General Motors).

Chevrolet sold 8,011 Colorados in January of 2018. Out of this total number, around 960 ZR2 were sold last month. This is a good result, considering that the starting MSRP for an extended cab ZR2 is $41,395, and a more popular crew cab start at $42,995. A fully loaded ZR2 crew cab with the 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel can go for over $52,000.

Chevrolet continues to bring out more ways to accessories a Colorado ZR2. Take a look at the Dust Edition in the image above. The truck offers a sports bar in the back with off-road lights on top, blacked out rims, and more.

How does the Chevy Colorado ZR2 compare against bigger trucks? We put it to the test on our difficult Cliffhanger 2.0 Rocky Mountain trail against the Ford Raptor and the Ram Power Wagon. Can the little guy fight against the heavy weights of off-roading? Check out the video for the results.
