Do the new 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the 2019 Ram 1500 have exterior design elements that can also be found in the current Toyota Tundra? We did not initially come up with this question ourselves, but you guys (viewers and readers of our channel and website) keep bringing up this question.
The deeper question may be: are several manufacturers converging on a particular design language that universally appeals to a pickup truck customer in general?
Many people are saying that the rear of the new Chevy Silverado resembles the rear of the Toyota Tundra.
While others claim that the front of the new Ram 1500 looks a bit like a Tundra.
We took another look at this question by comparing the headlight and tail-light design of several pickup trucks a while back. The industry is converging on a “C-shape” design for the light LED signatures or for the tail lamps. Could it also be converging on the general shape of a trucks fenders and lights?
