Here it is. We finally get the first official look at the Tesla Semi Truck, an all-electric class 8 heavy hauler. The truck makes its official debut in California this week. The company announced several claims and specifications: efficient aerodynamic design, 0-60 mph acceleration in about 20 seconds when fully loaded to 80,000 lbs, 500 mile range at highway speeds, and high speed charging should allow to recoup 400 miles of range in about 30 minutes.
These claims have not yet been independently verified, and Tesla says the semi truck will start production in 2019.
