There was a recent report (and images) showing a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 (or a GMC Sierra 1500) fueling up at a diesel pump. This is a very interesting new development. Ford is planning to release a turbo-diesel engine option for the F-150 in the spring of 2018. GM has not announced their plans for the next generation half-ton trucks.

The big question still remains. Which turbo-diesel engine will GM use, and which engine do you think they should use? The power output should be in the neighborhood of 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This is the output of the 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel in the Ram 1500 trucks (which are not being currently sold).

GM has several potential engine options: a version of the Navistar 3.0L, a version of the Isuzu 3.0L, or a version of an Isuzu 5.2L. Which engine would you like to see. Would you prefer a high-torque and lower-revving inline configuration or a high-horsepower and higher-revving V-configuration engine?
