The 2017 Nissan Armada is all-new. It now has much more in common with the Nissan Patrol SUV (from overseas) as far as the chassis is concerned. Exterior and interior have many elements similar to the current Infiniti QX80. This is the top-of-the-line Platinum version of Nissan’s SUV flagship.
Power comes from the redesigned 5.6L gasoline V8 that you can also find in the new Nissan Titan pickup trucks. It produces 390 hp and 394 lb-ft (which is less than the 400 hp and 413 lb-ft in the QX80). The big V8 is mated to the 7-speed automatic transmission and an automatic 4WD/AWD system.
The Armada Platinum is all about classic luxury. It’s roomy with miles of wood trim and acres of soft leather. It’s powered by a proper V8 and the independent suspension at all four corners is tuned for comfort. The as-tested MSRP of $60,985 for the Armada Platinum 4WD you see here is a good value when you consider all the features, power, and comfort.
