How fast and thirsty is the new 2017 Ford F-250 crew cab 4×4 King Ranch with its 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8? We run it 0-60 MPH at our test facility, then hook it up to a 12,500 lbs trailer and take it on the 98-mile highway mpg loop.

This is a nearly fully loaded 3/4 ton diesel luxury pickup. It’s riding on 20-inch rims and has miles of chrome. It has every bit of the latest towing technology built into it: 360-degree camera system, power telescoping and folding mirrors, 3.55 rear axle ratio, and a powerful turbo-diesel under the hood.

The 6.7L V8 is rated at 440 hp and 925 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to Ford’s 6-speed automatic transmission. The result…  It’s one of the quickest accelerating heavy duty trucks we have ever tested at a mile above sea level. It nearly broke into the 7-second range. The final time was: 8.04 seconds 0-60 MPH.

How does the truck perform when running at 70 MPH on the highway with 12,500 lbs behind it? Can it do better than 10 MPG average with this large and heavy 20-foot CM Trailers CargoMate behind it?
