Nissan is expanding its full-size pickup truck portfolio with the 2017 Nissan Titan 1500 half-ton. This is truck does not share much with the Titan XD lineup. The half-ton is sized to compete directly against the heavy hitters in the segment: Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tundra.

This crew cab, short bed, 4×4 Titan is powered by a fully redesigned 5.6L gasoline V8 with 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. The engine is backed up by a 7-speed automatic transmission. This PRO-4X version is focused on off-road performance. It has Bilstein shocks, skid plates, low range, a rear locking differential, and General Grabber tires.

We wanted to learn more about what makes the Titan 1500 PRO-4X unique. This is why we are going under the truck with our cameras for a detailed view and description.

We will be taking this truck on the difficult Cliffhanger 2.0 Rocky Mountain trail. Stay tuned for that!
