Ram Macho Power Wagon

Can the 2017 Ram Power Wagon get any more manly? Of course! The Ram Macho Power Wagon in this Macho Mango color is the answer from the guys at Mopar and Ram Trucks. Where does the Macho name come from? You will have to look to the Dodge Power Wagon Macho truck from 1970s.

This 2016 SEMA concept truck holds nothing back. It rides higher and packs 37-inch x 12 1/2-inch Nitto Trail Grappler MT tires, set on concept 18-inch beadlock wheels. The 6.4L HEMI V8 and the 6-speed automatic transmission are still there, but performance gets a boost with the help of Mopar air intake and a exhaust system with dual 5-inch diameter exhaust tips. Finally, the big 6.4L HEMI can breathe a little easier and sound deeper.

The exterior gets healthy doze of additional testosterone with unique powder-coated bumpers, wider fender flares, running boards, an LED light bar, a new Macho hood, a cab sail panel, and a moveable RamRack bed utility system.

What is the cab sail panel and why is it there? It’s mostly a styling element that harkens back to the bed-mounted roll bar in the 1970s trucks.

The Macho Mango color theme extends to the interior where you will also find a Mopar wireless charging system for smart devices.

The Macho Mango exterior color of the Ram Macho Power Wagon also brightens the interior, accenting the steering wheel Ram logo and the trim on the gauges, HVAC, infotainment center and side door panels.

Will the Macho Power Wagon concept truck become a reality? There is no official word on this yet, but it’s likely that some elements from this concept will trickle down into the future production trucks from Ram. The Macho hood and the RamRack system are at least two components that we would love to see.
