What are all the updates for the 2017 Silverado heavy duty? The upgraded 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine (code: L5P) is the obvious one. Unfortunately, we still do not have its official power specifications. However, many other updates are known thanks to the order guides. Here are the highlights of the 2017 model year changes.

Deletions

  • Slate Grey Metallic exterior color
  • Autumn Bronze Metallic exterior color
  • Tungston Metallic exterior color
  • High Country Premium Package (High Country package continues)

New Additions:

  • Graphite Metallic exterior color
  • Pepperdust Metallic exterior color
  • Capless fuel fill (for 6.0L gasoline V8 only)
  • Teen Driver mode
  • 20″ 6-spoke polished aluminum wheels

Anybody who has been to or lived in Alaska knows that pickup trucks play a big role in this region and its harsh winter environment. The new snow-ready Alaskan Edition of the Silverado HD includes the following features:

  • Snow Plow Prep Package
  • Smoked Amber roof marker lamps
  • Spray-on bed liner
  • Unique decal package
  • 18-inch black aluminum wheels (same as Midnight Edition wheels)
  • Tires:
    • 2500HD: LT275/65R18E Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires
    • 3500HD: LT265/70R18E all-terrain blackwall tires
