The 2017 Nissan Titan half-ton will start arriving at dealerships at the end of this month, and Nissan has announced the pricing. The Titan crew cab 4×2 S trim level with the 5.6L V8 will start at $34,780. How does this compare to competition?

It depends on the engine, cab, and trim combination you select for the competition. It’s not so easy to come up with an apples to apples comparison. The 5.6L V8 in the Nissan Titan half-ton is the most powerful engine offering at this time.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab WT 5.3L V8 starts at: $38,035

2016 Ford F-150 crew cab XL 3.5L V6 EcoBoost starts at: $35,365

2016 Ram 1500 crew cab Tradesman 5.7L V8 starts at: $33,270

2016 Toyota Tundra extended* cab SR 5.7L V8 starts at: $35,140

*Tundra crew cab is currently not available in the base SR trim.

The 2017 Titan half-ton comes in competitively priced. It undercuts Chevy, Ford, and Toyota when you consider base model crew cabs with the most powerful engine option. It will be interesting to see whether the single cab models will retain the competitive advantage.

If you like high-end pickup trucks, the top-of-the-line 2017 Titan crew cab 4×4 Platinum Reserve starts at $55,400.
