The first quarter of the calendar year is behind us and the full-size truck segment is as competitive as ever. The Ford F-Series had a good month with significant sales growth over last year. The new aluminum F-150 had a strenuous model changeover last year, but sales look to be stabilizing. It is again the best selling full-size pickup truck in the country when you compared it to the combined Chevrolet and GMC sales numbers this year.
Nearly all trucks had a successful month in March, but GMC Sierra lineup showed the best improvement over last year at 23.9%. Ram pickups is getting closer to Silverado sales with a solid sales month and 12.0% growth for the year.
The 2016 Nissan Titan XD is in full swing, and the truck line showed a welcome 21.6% improvement over March of last year. It will be interesting to see how the Titan sales continue to develop.
The Toyota Tundra is the only full-size light duty truck that saw a decrease in monthly or year-to-date sales versus the previous year.
