The Toyota Tacoma did not outsell all of its competitors combined in September 2015. The all-new 2016 Tacoma went on sale on September 10th, and any vehicle generation changeover comes with decreased sales. The old generation is winding down, and the new generation is not fully up to production and delivery capacity.
The Tacoma lost -6.9% in September, when compared to a year ago. The two GM trucks combined to a total of 9,666 units for the month, and came ever closer to the Tacoma numbers. However, the Tacoma has great potential, so it will be interesting to see what heights it will reach in the coming months.
The Nissan Frontier sales continue to slide down, but it still firmly holds third place.
We are still waiting for new information about the Honda Ridgeline. An all-new 2016 model is supposed to show up within the next 4-5 months.
