The next generation Honda Ridgeline has been long-time coming. The previous generation of the Ridgeline has wound down the sales. Honda first announced the upcoming new Ridgeline in December of 2013. Then we saw one rendering of the new pickup at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

The 2015 SEMA Honda press conference is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. PDT on Nov 3, 2015. This is the place for Honda’s next step in off-road racing with the full support ofHonda Performance Development (HPD) division. The company is unveiling the Ridgeline Desert Racing Truck. Honda says the racing truck will “offer a first look at the styling direction of the highly anticipated 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup.” Our best guess is the truck will share design cues and many components with the 2016 Honda Pilot.

The Ridgeline desert racer will feature a twin-turbocharged Honda HR35TT V6 engine, Albins ST6 sequential transmission, Fox racing shocks, and General Grabber tires. Honda is entering the truck into the SCORE Baja 1000 race in November.

This is an interesting development. It will mark the Honda’s first factory off-road entry into the SCORE Baja 1000 that takes place Nov 20-21, 2015.
