Take a look at this sinister looking 2015 Ram Rebel that was caught in the “wild” of Dearborn, MI. What is Ram’s latest off-road pickup doing near The Henry Ford museum? We do not know, but it looks like a pre-production prototype with manufacturer stickers on it. It’s also interesting to note the extended towing mirrors.
The Rebel is equipped with re-tuned air suspension that adds one inch of ground clearance over the standard Ram 4×4. It’s still adjustable as on the regular truck. The truck will come with a choice of two engines: 3.6L V6 Pentastar or the 5.7L HEMI V8. There is not EcoDiesel option at this time. Both available engines will be paired with an 8-speed transmission and a 3.92 rear axle ratio. The torquey HEMI can also be had with the 3.23 rear end.
The Rebel rides on 33-inch Toyo off-road tires, and the adventurous theme is continued on the inside with the Toyo tire pattern contoured into the seats.
The Ram Rebel will go on sale within the next several months in the “summer of 2015”.
