Did you ever have a thought about driving around the world or half-way around the world? How about covering four continents and over 30,000 miles with your family? Which vehicle would you choose to take your spouse and your three kids on this adventure? How about this 1997 Land Cruiser (J80)? If you mean to cruise the land, then why not choose a Land Cruiser?

1997 was the last year of the J80 series in United States. This large off-roader came with a 4.5L inline six-cylinder engine with 212 horsepower @ 4,600 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque @ 3,200 rpm. This relatively large displacement six does not like to rev very high, but it does not need to as it’s meant for lower range torque. It’s backed up by a 4-speed automatic transmission. It has a base curb weight of 4,834 lbs and a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. This Land Cruiser is being pushed to the maximum as it’s towing a trailer with supplies and camping equipment. It’s also carrying five people.
