The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel was revealed this morning at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.  Offering standard features such as a height-adjustable air suspension, 33-inch tires, a factory lift, and skid plates – the Rebel is a tough, off-road-ready half-ton pickup.

Ram says that the Rebel’s standard air suspension was chosen in order to offer a 1.0-inch lift for improved off-road approach, departure and breakover angles.  To ensure functionality and durability, Ram accordingly strengthened and modified several core suspension and steering components.

The Rebel’s shocks are supplied courtesy of Bilstein and, along with the electric-assist steering rack, offer specific tuning to compensate for the best-in-class 10.3 inches of ground clearance.

Unique design cues also abound for the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel, including a new front grille design and exclusive interior colors and materials, including Radar Red and Black two-tone vinyl seats with a tire tread-matching pattern.

The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel is available exclusively as a crew cab model with 5-ft. 7-in. bed length.  Buyers can opt for either the 3.6-L Pentastar V-6 engine (4×4 only) or the 5.7-L HEMI V-8 (4×2 or 4×4), the former available for the first time with a 3.92 axle ratio.  Chrysler’s eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines.

In addition to the Rebel, Ram announced that their 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel model is capable of achieving a class-leading 29 MPG highway fuel economy rating.

The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will go on sale early in the second half of 2015.
