Ram truck line was the best selling in June of 2014 and closes out the first half of the year with an impressive 19.7% gain over the same period of last year. Only three trucks had a positive June: Chevy Silverado, Ram, and Nissan Frontier. All others we in the red. The venerable F-series was down -11.0% for the month. Ford is in the process of retooling the factories for the new 2015 all-aluminum truck, so there will be supply constraint issues for the rest of this calendar year.
Although, the Ram grew so much, it’s still not close to overtake the Silverado for second sales spot. Toyota Tacoma and Tundra had a rough month, but Nissan Frontier continues sales momentum built on the popularity of the smaller four-cylinder model.
