2015 Ram pickup line is fully SAE J2807 compliant

2015 ram truck line saw j2807 towing

Ram has been working on this for a long time and are now proud to announce the entire 2015 Ram truck lineup is compliant with the requirements of the SAE J2807 towing standard.  The impressive part is that Ram did not have downgrade any tow ratings and actually was able to increase the ratings for some configurations.

J2807 standard is a testing procedure that specifies grades, speeds, and testing conditions that a manufacturer has to meet.  When a truck is J2807 compliant, it means it meets or exceeds the testing procedure defined with the standard.

Here’s a sample of the current maximum towing capacities for the full range of 2015 Ram trucks:

  • Ram 1500 3.6L V-6 : 7,600 pounds
  • Ram 1500 3.0L V-6 : 9,200 pounds
  • Ram 1500 5.7L V-8 : 10,650 pounds
  • Ram 2500 6.4L V-8 : 16,300 pounds
