All the recalls and controversy surrounding many trucks as well as cars do not appear to have slowed down pickup and commercial van sales in May 2014. Although Ford F-series saw a somewhat alarming -4.3% loss, the other players continue to enjoy significant gains. GMC Sierra grew by 21.4%, and Ram continues the steady march upward with 17.0%.
Nissan Frontier midsize truck sales have calmed down a lot since growing like crazy earlier this year. The Frontier is still enjoying 26.4% growth year-over-year.

Commercial Van – May 2014 Sales Chart
While the Ford E-series still dominates the segment, Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana are picking up some steam. The Savana saw the biggest growth, more than doubling May sales over the same month last year.
Ram ProMaster is slowly picking up steam, but is still struggling against the pair of vans from Nissan. The big Nissan NV grew a significant 51.9% in May. The new Ford Transit Connect has been shipping to dealers and already scored a 13.8% gain.
