2014 ram 3500 dually ike gauntlet extreme towing video preview

The road train is back!  This time, it’s the 2014 Ram 3500 HD Dually that takes on the Ike Gauntlet HD challenge of towing 19,250 lbs up one of the steepest sections of the United States interstate highway system.  The goal is to pull the two-trailer setup eight miles up the west side of the Continental Divide via I-70 and above 11,000 feet of elevation to Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels.

This Ram has the HO 6.7L Cummins motor and the Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission.  The turbo-diesel produces 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.  It has the air helper springs in the rear and many hi-tech gadgets, including the smart exhaust brake.  Will the Ram beat the 2015 Chevy Silverado Dually when towing the same load?

We are working to bring you the full video soon.  In the meantime, check out this fun preview video.
