Yet another bit of trivia for the historically savvy truck connoisseur. The hint here is that this truck was built by William “Billy” Durant’s company. That information alone makes this truck a pre-1930’s vehicle. If you look into Durant’s history, you’ll see he was connected to General Motors.

It’s kind of sad: William “Billy” Durant was the CEO of General Motors. He was canned and opted to make a go of the Durant brand on his own. He started business relations with Dort, Frontenac and DeVaux. Durant wanted to go toe to toe with General Motors (among other brands). Things were looking good, but by the end of it all, his business failed and he died nearly penny less.

This truck represents Billy Durant’s attempt at taking on a giant.
