Photo of the day: What has Jeep Design done to the Jeep Mighty FC Concept?

The Jeep Mighty FC Concept came out a few years ago and it’s one of the most successful “dream” vehicles out there. Concepts like the Jeep Mighty FC Concept are built and displayed to give consumers and journalists a peak inside of the minds of Jeep designers. I suspect that Mark Allen, head of Jeep Design was locked in a room with the Jeep Mighty FC with a sawzall and case of RedBulls.

OFF WITH ITS HEAD!

The results were seen at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari. Think of the new Jeep Mighty FC Concept as a convertible pickup truck built as an Über off road dominator. The bed is literally a few inches deep. It was never designed to haul anything and it’s overall design is meant to pay homage to the original, Willys-based FC.

I think it’s been painted too. It used to be Imperial Walker grey.

Driving the Jeep Mighty FC Concept before it was beheaded was fun, but rather uncomfortable. The cabin is tiny and the only way I could drive it was with my legs pushed to one side, or spread wide open. Very little legroom indeed. It’s possible that Jeep Design removed the roof to allow for more leg and head room. At least, that seems logical for a truck that defies logic.

One thing’s for sure, the Jeep Mighty FC Concept is a laugh and it brings the crowds in by the truck load. When they hear that the concept is based on a Wrangler platform and it has the same V6, they tend to look surprised. When people see it move, it looks almost alien with its extreme forward cab and ridiculous approach and departure angles.

you can rear about the Jeep Mighty FC (here), (here) and (here). Can you dig that I like it?
