This Top Five Trucks for Mama post is subjective (like most posts) but it serves to remind folks that Mama needs a truck too. Why Mama? Well, most of us have or once had a Mama. Hell, even my Mama had a pickup tuck (a 1993 Ford Ranger). The Top Five Tricks for Mama list is comprised of vehicles that Mama could own and drive day-to-day – happily.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner folks… just a reminder.

Top Five Trucks for Mama #5

The current model Toyota Tacoma. Mama needs reliability and a truck that she can easily climb into. Love ’em or hate ’em – the Toyota Tacoma is one of the most reliable pickup tucks out there. If Mama is tall, the Toyota Tacoma may be a bit uncomfortable compared to number four. Oh, and if Mama hunts, readers of The Fast Lane Truck seem to like the Tacoma.

Top Five Trucks for Mama #4

The Nissan Frontier. The Nissan Frontier can duke it out with the Toyota Tacoma in nearly every way. The seating position of the Frontier seems to be a bit more comfortable than the equivalent Tacoma. The Nissan Frontier is a terrific all-around pickup tuck with a great ride (in certain models) and lots of optional configurations.

The Honda Ridgeline. Hold on cowboy… before you get your panties in a twist over the fact that the Honda Ridgeline is not as capable as most current, midsize pickups trucks – remember: it is a very comfortable truck. It rides like a comfy minivan. Sometimes Mama wants to be coddled and doesn’t need the beefy capabilities of a full-on pickup truck. The current Honda Ridgeline is kaput, but Honda promises an all new Ridgeline in about two years.

Top Five Trucks for Mama #2

The 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. Yep, once again, this excellent truck makes the cut on a TFLTruck list. Why? Check it out: coil-spring rear end, top-notch interior, very easy to drive characteristics and an efficient V6 diesel. Let’s face it folks, Mama doesn’t like filling up all the time and this power-plant will give the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel about two-times the range of a big HEMI.

Top Five Trucks for Mama #1

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado & 2015 GMC Canyon. Don’t blame the messenger folks – these trucks will be a kick-ass choice for people who want a comfortable, modern, easy to live with truck. Granted: Roman and I have yet to drive one, we have spent time inside and around both vehicles. If General Motors is being truthful about the trucks’ abilities, Mama will dig ’em and so will you.
